Review: McDonald's - Caramel Apple Parfait

McDonald's Caramel Apple Parfait is new to the McDonald's menu for a limited-time. It features a snack-size cup of lowfat vanilla yogurt with cubed apples and caramel sauce on top.

The price is a little more than the similarly-sized but differently layered Fruit'N Yogurt Parfait at $1.49 (compared to a buck for the latter).

Torn between soft serve and yogurt, I opted for the slightly healthier option (I hope) and went with the Caramel Apple Parfait (promising myself I'd come back later and try the sundae).
McDonald's apples have been pretty consistent for me in turns of taste and quality and this time was no different. The apples were cut a fair bit smaller than Wendy's which if you mix it up, gives you a more equal distribution of apple in your bites.

I complained that Wendy's Caramel Apple Frosty Parfait had a little too much caramel in it and McDonald's version gives a more measured amount. It actually might be too little caramel for some but I liked it.
The yogurt holds up against the apples and caramel fairly well and you don't have to work about it melting.

Overall, I really enjoyed McDonald's Caramel Apple Parfait; it has a crunchy caramel apple taste blending buttery caramel with tart apples which paired very well with the vanilla yogurt. I'm looking forward to trying the soft serve version!

  2. I was given a sample the other day and it is GREAT --- I do not care for strawberry BUT love apple - I enjoyed without even adding the caramel sauce, very light and delicious.  Wish it wasn't for a limited time - I may get hooked on it and then its gone - please reconsider.
