Review: McDonald's - Southern Style Chicken Biscuit

I've always liked the idea of a chicken biscuit... I mean how can you go wrong? It only has two components! The chicken and the biscuit! That being said, I wasn't too impressed with the Southern Style Chicken Biscuit, McDonald's first-ever chicken breakfast offering.

Why? It was a bit dry; I'm sure your mileage may vary but when I had it, it was slightly too dry. The chicken breast filet, while battered, seasoned, and breaded the same as the the Southern Style Chicken Sandwich, was smaller to fit the biscuit, and therefore, easier to overcook.

I think the chicken filet would go pretty good with a KFC biscuit though. KFC should make a chicken biscuit! I remember when they had the Chicken Littles which was like a slider but with a chicken patty. It was tasty!

Anyway, I'll probably try McDonald's Southern Style Chicken Biscuit ($1.89 served at breakfast only) again and see if it tastes any better the second go round because I just really like the idea... plus I got a free coupon in the mail...

  1. I tried this today...with free coupon. Pretty disappointing. Even though there aren't any pickles...there is still a pickle flavor! Gross!!

  2. For some reason these had a real bad pickle taste, like the sandwich. if they could get rid of that element (not to mention lower the price, since i remember a dollar chicken biscuit), they'd be better off.
