McDonald's Previews New Beverage Test

McDonald's teases a test of new beverages based on its recently-wrapped-up CosMc's concept ahead of a launch starting September 2, 2025, at 500 select McDonald's restaurants across Wisconsin, Colorado, and the areas nearby.

The new test beverage lineup ranges from "cold coffees, fruity refreshers, crafted sodas, and energizing sips." A sneak peek at some of the beverages reveals:

• Toasted Vanilla Frappe
• Strawberry Watermelon Refresher
• Sprite Lunar Splash
• Popping Tropic Refresher
• Creamy Vanilla Cold Brew 

The new beverages are meant to address "fast-growing beverage trends and evolving fan preferences."

Judging from the beverages previewed, the new line more comprehensively competes with the likes of Starbucks, Dunkin', and Dutch Bros than McDonald's current McCafe offerings. Taco Bell is also looking into the space with its Live Más Café concept.
