Review: Reese's - Peanut Butter Eggs

With Easter just around the corner, I thought I'd kick off my blog about eating brand name foods with Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs! Exciting, no?

If you haven't tried them before, and I must confess I hadn't until I bought this bag on sale from Albertsons (a predominately left coast supermarket though I'm told it is in other states as well), they actually taste a little different from regular Reese's Peanut Butter Cups due to their differing shape.
Here's a size comparison with the slightly smaller Reese's Peanut Butter Cup that comes in an 8-pack. I had to restrain myself from gobbling them on the spot. Chocolate and peanut butter equals drool.
Okay, so one half is missing but the plate is only so big! Anyway, you can't notice it here unless you have magical magnifying eyes but the peanut butter cup is actually moister (is that a real word?) in the middle and tasted sweeter than the egg. The egg was dry and had a strong peanut flavor. Also, the egg has an even distribution of chocolate all around while the peanut butter cup has a thicker top and sides and a very thin bottom as some of you might know from eating them. I often find that the bottom sometimes melts very easily and sticks to the wrapper.

In sum, the peanut butter eggs are worth a try if you want a slightly different variation on the peanut butter cup. Plus, after Easter is over, as with all seasonal goods, they're usually half off if not more!
