According to the brand, the new line is made with skim milk, cream, sugar, and espresso made from dark roast single-origin Colombian coffee beans that feature "such deep roasted sweetness that minimal sugar and calories are needed for a pure coffee indulgence." That amounts to 100 to 130 calories and 10 to 17 grams of sugar per 8-fl oz. can.
Peet's True Iced Espresso looks to compete directly with Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso, which comes in a 6.5-fl oz. can and comes in at around 140 calories and 17 grams of sugar in each can.
At launch, the line includes four flavors: Black and White (a lightly sweetened latte), Vanilla Latte, Caramel Macchiato, and Mocha.
The suggested price per can is $2.99 and they can be found at grocery stores throughout the US as well as on the chain's online store.
