Popeyes Updates Wings with Milder Base and New Flavors

Popeyes updates its bone-in wings to swap its spicy Ghost Pepper Wings with a mild marinated base that features "a savory blend of Louisiana seasonings." Ghost Pepper is now available as a new dry rub.

The new wing lineup includes three sauce flavors (Signature Hot, Sweet 'N Spicy, and Honey BBQ) and four new dry rubs (the previously mentioned Ghost Pepper plus Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parm, and Buffalo). Here's what you can expect from each flavor:

- Signature Hot - Cajun hot sauce with a hint of sweetness.

- Sweet 'N Spicy - A glaze featuring chili, garlic, and ginger.

- Honey BBQ - A bold, rich, and tangy Honey BBQ sauce.

- New Ghost Pepper Dry Rub - A savory blend of classic Louisiana seasonings and Ghost Pepper.

- New Lemon Pepper Dry Rub - A sweet and tangy lemon pepper seasoning.

- New Garlic Parm Dry Rub - A savory blend of parmesan cheese and garlic.

- New Buffalo Dry Rub - "Classic buffalo flavor coats a crisp wing to create the perfect mix of flavor and heat."

Popeyes' wing prices start at $5.99 for six.

To promote the wing changes, Popeyes has partnered with NFL quarterback Baker Mayfield to offer a new, limited-time deal: Starting September 4, the Monday after Baker Mayfield scores a touchdown in an NFL game this season, Popeyes reward members can get a free 6-piece wings with any $10+ digital order made via the Popeyes app or website. The promotion runs through January 4, 2026.
