Review: Dunkin' Donuts - Blueberry Cake Donut

Dunkin' Donuts' Blueberry Cake Donut is your standard cake donut interspersed with little blueberry-flavored bits and glazed.

I picked one up while in Vermont for 99 cents.

Around the World: KFC Barbados Offers Corn Nuggets

Since last year, select KFC locations in Barbados have been offering new Corn Nuggets on and off again for a limited time.

Corn Nuggets are traditionally a Southern dish and KFC's version features "bite size sweet corn kernels coated with a golden crispy batter."

From what I can gather, corn nuggets tend to be sweet but not overly so. It looks like the corn mixture needs to be frozen before fried for the breading to set before the filling overcooks.

Arby's Tests Bottled Arby's Sauce

If you've ever thought, "Gee, I wish they would sell bottles of Arby's sauce," Arby's is currently offering them for a limited time at Arby's restaurants in Savannah, GA and Harrisburg, PA.

The 11.5-ounce bottles sell for $2.99 each.

Review: KFC - Boneless Chicken

White meat - left, dark meat- right
KFC's Boneless Chicken is a skinless, boneless take on their bone-in Original Recipe fried chicken. According to their research, a majority of people like boneless chicken and this is their effort to appeal to those folks, notwithstanding the fact that they offer chicken strips and have offered a Boneless Filet in the past.

Boneless Chicken carries a 25-cent-per-piece upcharge over KFC's regular bone-in chicken and can be had in white or dark meat. KFC is also currently promoting a two-piece Boneless Chicken combo (with a side, biscuit, and drink) for $4.99.

News: New Magnum Gold?! Ice Cream Bars

While they've been offered abroad for some time now, Magnum Gold (stylized "Gold?!") ice cream bars are now available here in the US.

Each Magnum Gold bar features vanilla bean ice cream swirled with sea salt caramel and dipped in a Belgian milk chocolate and finished with a golden shell.

News: Sonic - Cinnasnacks Return

Last seen in 2008, Cinnasnacks are back at Sonic for a limited-time. The bite-sized pastries promise the "gooey goodness of a cinnamon roll in a warm bite-sized snack" and were first introduced when Sonic expanded their coffee drink line-up.

Local Review: Al's French Frys - Cheeseburger and Fries

Al's French Frys in Burlington, VT has been around since the late 1940s and sports the decor of a classic diner, while slinging good old burgers and fries.

I went for an order of fries ("frys") and a cheeseburger with mustard, relish, and onions (bacon, lettuce, tomato, and chili are extra). The cheeseburger was $1.75 and a cup of fries was $1.60, which is pretty nice.

Around the World: What a Breakfast McWrap Looks Like

While the McWrap is new here in the US, McDonald's has already moved onto a Breakfast McWrap out in Poland.

Here's what it looks like:

Around the World: KFC China - Double-Pepper, Double-Chicken Sandwich

It seems they really like to double it up over in China, at least if the KFC Double-Pepper, Double-Chicken Sandwich is any indication.

The latest sandwich at KFC China features two crispy-fried chicken filets splashed with not one but two different chili sauces; one red, one green, and both looking legitimately spicy. Along for the ride is some leaf lettuce and a sesame bun.

Tips: How to Get Fresh Fast-Food Fries Every Time

If you're like me, you're always disappointed when you go to a fast-food restaurant and get lukewarm or soggy fries. But there is a way to get fast-food French fries fresh from the fryer every time.

Here's how:

Review: Nabisco - Mallomars

Nabisco's Mallomars are round graham crackers topped with a marshmallow and covered in dark chocolate. They've been around since 1913 and are not distributed by Nabisco during the summer months (that doesn't mean you can't find them; it just means they don't ship them out).

I usually don't see them on sale and they tend to cost about $5 for an 8-ounce box, but I found this particular box at Big Lots for $2.50 (score!).
