Tips: How to Get Fresh Fast-Food Fries Every Time

If you're like me, you're always disappointed when you go to a fast-food restaurant and get lukewarm or soggy fries. But there is a way to get fast-food French fries fresh from the fryer every time.

Here's how:
Go to In-N-Out... Just kidding!

It's pretty simple: you just have to ask. Most fast food restaurants that serve fries are frying them all the time. As long as you're willing to wait for the next batch, most places will accommodate you. One caveat though: even if they're freshly fried, if the oil they're fried in is due for a change, they're not going to turn out so great.

You can ask for fries without salt, which is also good if you're trying to cut back on your sodium intake. Plus, you can always salt them yourself (but you want to make sure to do so while they're still piping hot or the salt won't stick very well).

Something you might not know is that, like In-N-Out, McDonald's will also fry your fries "well done" if you ask. The resultant fries are extra crunchy, but a little on the dry side.

  2. Pointless update. If you want something, tell them. They can't just read your mind.

  3. Fast food restaurants really will do most anything if you ask. I often order my McDonald's fries with light salt if I'm not in a hurry; not to get fresh ones, although that is a perk, but because I find them to be far too salty.
