Review: Green Burrito - Beef Taco

I was always curious about the Green Burrito growing up but I never actually tried it and then the local Green Burrito closed. It wasn't until recently that I finally tried it when I walked into a Carl's Jr... Apparently, CKE Restaurants, Inc., the parent company of Carl's Jr. and Hardee's , bought out the Green Burrito in 2001. Since then they have been co-branding them with Carl's Jr restaurants so that you can get American and Mexican Fast Food under the same roof much like Yum! Brands, Inc. does with Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut.

So... yes, Green Burrito at Carl's Jr.
I tried the beef taco for 99 cents. It's a little more substantial than a Taco Bell crunchy taco for the extra 10 cents. A key difference in the tacos is the shells; Green Burrito appears to fry theirs in-house which give them a nice texture, as well as tasting fresher. Beyond that the lettuce was crisp, the cheese moist, and the beef well-seasoned. It was quite good.

  1. They used to be 2 for $1. Great deal for that price. Not so much for 1 for $1.

  2. a good deal compared to el pollo loco's chicken taco!

you gotta compare to jack in the box/burger king tacos. seems like jack in the box has been skimping on the cheese in recent months...ie not giving any at all.
