KFC Tests New Hot Honey Chicken

KFC begins testing new southern-inspired Hot Honey Chicken at select locations in the Norfolk, Virgina and New York state areas for a limited time.

The new offering features the chain's Extra Crispy Chicken covered in a hot honey sauce made with honey and mild peppers for a bit of sweet heat in every bite. The sauce is also available on Extra Crispy Tenders and Chicken Littles.

To help push the new chicken, the chain has "honey bear-fied" Colonel Sanders and come up with Colonel Bear as their latest new Colonel.

Hot Honey Chicken is the fourth southern-inspired flavor that KFC has tried. It follows the nationally launched Nashville Hot and Georgia Gold Chicken as well as the test of Smoky Mountain BBQ Fried Chicken back in August. The chain will also roll out Smoky Mountain BBQ to select restaurants in the same area as the Hot Honey Chicken trial.
