News: Quiznos Testing New Ciabatta Toasties

Quiznos is testing new Ciabatta Toasties sandwiches at select locations in Orange County; Madison, WI; and Milwaukee, WI.

The new sandwiches feature a toasted square Ciabatta bun rather than your typical sub roll. The price comes in at $3.99.

News: New 7-Eleven Exclusive Amp, Vitaminwater, and Gatorade Flavors

Heading into April, 7-Eleven has locked up a trio of exclusive drinks from Amp, Vitaminwater, and Gatorade.

From Amp, 7-Eleven offers Amp Energy Dale Jr. Sour flavor, a new, limited-time sour grape flavored energy drink. The promotion price is two 16-oz cans for $3.

News: KFC Parent Company Testing Chick-fil-A-like Concept

KFC parent company Yum Brands is testing a Chick-fil-A-like restaurant concept out in Arlington, Texas called "Super Chix" that just opened today.

The restaurant boldly proclaims its sandwich as "The Last True Chicken Sandwich," and features a fairly simple menu that includes chicken sandwiches, tenders, fries, onion strings, frozen custard, and salads.

Review: Taco Bell - Chicken Ranch Flatbread Griller

Taco Bell's Chicken Ranch Flatbread Griller is reminiscent of the Flatbread Sandwiches they offered a while ago and features avocado ranch dressing, shredded cheese, and strips of white meat chicken wrapped up in a warm, grilled flatbread. It's currently being tested in select locations in Southern California.

I picked one up for $1.29.

Around the World: McDonald's Adds New Curry Burgers to Germany

While the McDonald's Extra Value Menu here in the States most recently added ingredients like buffalo sauce and bacon for variety, over in Germany, the newest kids on the McDonald's value menu are the Curry Beef and Curry Chicken sandwiches.

News: Whataburger - New Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuit

For a limited-time, Whataburger is offering new Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuits as an optional substitute/upgrade for any biscuit on their breakfast menu.

The new biscuits have jalapenos and shredded cheddar cheese baked inside of them.

Jimmy John's "Vito" Italian sub features genoa salami, provolone, capicola, onion, lettuce, tomato, and an Italian vinaigrette on French bread.

An 8" sub was $5.99.

News: Dunkin' Donuts - New Iced Green Tea

Dunkin' Donuts expands their iced tea selection with the addition of new Iced Green Tea as the temperature heats up.

The new Iced Green Tea displays the "Rainforest Alliance Certified" seal and contains 30% tea sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms (30% is the allowed entry point to use the seal; more details here).

News: Carvel - New Salted Caramel Ice Cream Desserts

Heading into spring, Carvel goes with salted caramel as the primary flavor of a new trio of limited-time ice cream desserts.

Through June 29, 2014, Carvel offers Salted Caramel Soft Serve, Fresh Scooped Salted Caramel with pieces of Heath Toffee Bar, and Salted Caramel Sundae Dasher.

News: Taco Bell's Next Doritos Locos Taco Coming in May

At a conference call this morning, Taco Bell's Chief Marketing Officer, Chris Brandt, mentioned that their next-yet-unrevealed flavor of the popular Doritos Loco Line is due out in early May. Other topics covered included what's popular so far in Taco Bell's new breakfast, the reveal for the latest ad supporting breakfast, and what might round out the menu later on.

Review: Muller - Dark Chocolate and Raspberry Corner Yogurt

Muller's Dark Chocolate and Raspberry Corner Yogurt features lowfat yogurt mixed with dark chocolate shavings with a corner cup of raspberries in juice on the side.

A 5.3-oz container was $1 on sale.

News: Subway Trying Kung Pao Pulled Pork Sub

Subway recently introduced a new Kung Pao Pulled Pork sub in select markets (confirmed in Michigan) although it's unclear if it's a regional item or a market test.

Regardless, they already have a television ad for the new item, which appears to be their previously offered Applewood Pulled Pork but with a Kung Pao sauce rather than a BBQ sauce.
