Review: Lime YQ by Yoplait

Lime-flavored YQ by Yoplait is not technically "yogurt" as defined by the FDA as it's not made with traditional milk. Instead, it's yogurt made with ultra-filtered milk.

Key Lime Greek Yogurt Comparison

Key Lime Greek yogurt is a favorite of mine so I decided to try various versions of the flavor from three of the major Greek Yogurt brands to compare. I went with Chobani, Fage, and Dannon Oikos.

Review: Noosa Yogurt

Noosa is a brand of yogurt (they call it "yoghurt") made in Colorado from a Australian recipe (that hails from Noosa, Australia, hence the name). It comes in several varieties including the Strawberry Rhubarb and Blueberry flavors that I tried.

It's a bit pricier than most supermarket yogurt brands and comes in at $2.49 for a 8-ounce container (which I picked up two of during a "buy one, get one free" sale).

Review: Muller - Corner Yogurt: Choco Balls and Granola

Muller's Corner yogurt features lowfat yogurt with various toppings in a separate "corner" so that you can either flip the toppings onto the yogurt or dip the yogurt in the toppings however you like.

I recently tried the Choco Balls and Crunchy Granola flavors which came in 5.3-ounce container at 99 cents a piece on sale.

Review: Muller - FrutUp Yogurt with Fruit Mousse

Muller is a German brand of yogurt recently launched here in the US via a joint venture between Muller and PepsiCo through their Quaker brand. Muller FrutUps feature something I haven't seen before: a layer of fruit mousse on top of a equal layer of lowfat yogurt.

They were introduced last year but I've only ever seen them at Von's in my area. I picked up a Strawberry-flavored one and Lemon-flavored cup for 88 cents each on sale.

Preview/Review: New Yoplait Greek Yogurt

Taking into account feedback regarding their current Greek yogurt offering, the folks at Yoplait will be coming out with a new Greek Yogurt this August. Customers weren't big on the previous fruit on the bottom and aftertaste of the current stuff, so the fruit is now blended into the yogurt and they've tried to eliminate the aftertaste.

I was offered the opportunity to sample the new yogurt pre-launch and received several 5.3-ounce cups in the mail courtesy of Yoplait. The suggested retail price will be $1.29 a cup.

Review: Dannon - Oikos Vanilla Greek Yogurt

Dannon Oikos Vanilla Greek Yogurt was previously just Dannon Vanilla Greek Yogurt, but they've since adopted the Oikos name from sister brand Stonyfield. The yogurt remains the same and shouldn't be confused with Stonyfield Organic Oikos which is also available, but has a much different flavor.

I picked up a 5.3-ounce cup for $1 on sale (regular price of $1.29)

Review: Yoplait - Honey Vanilla Greek Yogurt

Yoplait's Honey Vanilla Greek Yogurt isn't technically Greek or even yogurt according to a lawsuit. Regardless, it's non-fat and features twice the protein of regular yogurt coupled with the flavor of honey and vanilla.

Oddly, one of my local supermarkets sells a 6-ounce cup for $1.49 while a similar-sized cup of traditionally made Greek yogurt (which sounds like it would cost more) which it sells for $1.29.

Review: Yoplait - Strawberry Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt really seems to be catching on; even Yoplait is getting in on the action. Yoplait's Strawberry Greek Yogurt features Greek yogurt with strawberries on the bottom. The hallmarks of Greek yogurt are more protein and a thick, creamy texture without the fat.

A 6-ounce cup normally costs somewhere around the $1.50 mark.
