News: Krispy Kreme - Free Donuts on Talk Like a Pirate Day

Krispy Kreme will once again be celebrating International Talk Like a Pirate Day on Thursday, September 19, by offering a free Original Glazed donut to guests who arrive that day and talk (or at least try and talk) like a pirate. 

For additional pirate booty in the form of a dozen free Original Glazed donuts, you'll have to don full pirate attire on the day and show up at a participating Krispy Kreme store. Specifically, your pirate costume must include three or more of the following items (no weapons are allowed):

KFC Australia recently unveiled the new, limited-time KFC Zinger Pie, KFC's version of the Australian meat pie, which we in the States would probably be most familiar thinking of as a handheld chicken pot pie.

The KFC Zinger Pie features a flaky crust filled simply with pieces of chicken breast marinated in KFC’s spicy Zinger marinade and gravy (with none of those silly vegetables to get in the way).

Around the World: KFC Indonesia Serves Cheese Donut

KFC Indonesia's newest menu item is a Cheese Donut. It appears to be a glazed donut topped with shredded Swiss and cheddar cheese.

Interestingly, the promotional images show it paired with a Hazelnut Coffee. Not exactly something thought of as a complement to cheese, but then again, neither is a donut.

Yoplait now offers a new line of yogurt with more fruit that they're calling "Yoplait Fruitful." Each 6-oz cup features 1/3 cup of fruit and carries a suggested retail price of $1.19 each.

Yoplait Fruitful comes in six flavors: Pineapple, Strawberry, Mango Pineapple & Orange, Blueberry, Peach, and Cherries & Red Berries.

Frozen Friday: Ben & Jerry's - Rockin' Blondies Ice Cream

Ben & Jerry's Rockin' Blondies ice cream is exclusive to Target and features buttery brown sugar ice cream with blonde brownies (AKA "Blondies") and butterscotch toffee flakes.

McDonald's offers their own version of a Pumpkin Spice Latte this fall as well as a Pumpkin Pie and a new Pralines & Cream McFlurry.

The Pumpkin Spice Latte is definitely on the national menu while the Pumpkin Pie and Pralines & Cream McFlurry may only be available in select markets.

The ice cream sandwich features two snickerdoodle cookies sandwiching a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Like many a chain this fall, Dunkin' Donuts features a seasonal line up of pumpkin beverages and bakery items. New this year are a Pumpkin Pie Donut and Frozen Pumpkin Coffee Coolatta. Dunkin' is also returning a full menu of pumpkin coffees, lattes, donuts, muffins, and more.

Carl's Jr. expands the Buffalo and blue cheese theme of their latest burger to their Crisscut Fries with new, limited-time Buffalo Blue Cheese Crisscut Fries.

The dish features Carl's Jr.'s seasoned Crisscut (or waffle-cut to some) Fries topped with blue cheese crumbles, ranch dressing and Frank's RedHot Buffalo Sauce. The topped fries figure to be around for as long as the new Buffalo Blue Cheese Burger since they share a few key ingredients.

Dunkin' Donuts combines Angus steak with their Big N' Toasted Breakfast Sandwich for the new, limited-time Angus Steak Big N' Toasted Breakfast Sandwich.

Meant for heartier appetities, the Angus Steak Big N' Toasted features two eggs, Angus steak, and a slice of American cheese between two thick slices of Texas toast.

The original Big N' Toasted breakfast sandwich was first introduced in 2011, while Angus steak made its first appearance on the Dunkin' menu in 2012.

I'm a little late on this one: Popeyes is offering two pieces of fried chicken (leg and thigh or breast and wing) and a biscuit for $2.99.

The deal is good for the entire month of September, which happens to be National Chicken Month (they're calling it "Love that Chicken! Month").

KFC's Colonel's Original Sandwich features a piece of Original Recipe Boneless chicken with Colonel's sauce on a sweet Hawaiian Bread bun.

McDonald's is offering new Mighty Wings for a limited-time. The bone-in chicken wings feature a "bold, spicy breading."

The new wings come just in time for the start of football season. They come in orders of 3 pieces, 5 pieces, and 10 pieces with prices starting at $2.99 for 3 pieces and up to $8.99 for 10 pieces..

Similar to Chicken McNuggets, you can choose from the same selection of sauces for dipping.
