The Country Pork Sandwich seems like it might just be a regional item, and not destined for nationwide greatness. A particularly eye-opening fact is that one sandwich contains 3310mg(!) of sodium, according to the Burger King website, well over the FDA recommended daily intake of 2400mg. Nutritional information follows after the jump.

There is a tradition of making these things HUGE in Iowa. I think that the high calorie count is partially because they then add mayo to the deep fried pork, but also because they use a cheaper, fattier piece of pork than the tenderloin.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I've seen pictures, the patty is ridonkulously large compared to the bun. You're probably right about why the calorie count is so high.
ReplyDeleteWow, scarry nutrition. I was actually wondering how it could be that high, since tenderloin is pretty lean and frying doesn't add THAT much fat. Breading maybe? I'm not from the Hoosier state, but I've always wanted to try one of these.
ReplyDeleteLooks good and scary indeed
ReplyDeleteLook at the photo , then look at the served sandwich. Big fraudulent difference. Fat and tendon are all that is inside the breading. Pork?, maybe rats or cats, how you gonna know?.
ReplyDeleteMake the product look like the photo or shove it up your garbage disposal.

ReplyDeleteI think it's a permanent regional item in some states.
