Taco Bell Tests New Double Stacked Tacos

Taco Bell is testing a new line of Double Decker-type tacos that they've taken to calling "Double Stacked Tacos."

The new test items were spotted out in Toledo, Ohio by one of your fellow BrandEaters for $1 a pop (they might cost a little more if they ever go national).

The Crunchy Taco folded in a flour tortilla concept features three varieties: Cool Habanero, Nacho Crunch, and Spicy Sweet.

Cool Habanero features a crunchy taco shell filled with seasoned beef, sour cream, lettuce, and cheese nestled in a flour tortilla with a layer of melted cheese and habanero sauce in between.

Nacho Crunch consists of the same classic Crunchy Taco combination but with crunchy red tortilla strips instead of sour cream. It's also placed in a flour tortilla but with a layer of melted cheese and nacho cheese sauce in between the two.

Spicy Sweet also includes the same Crunchy Taco but with sweet chili rather than sour cream or tortilla strips and is layered with the same melted cheese and habanero sauce as the Cool Habanero Double Stacked Taco.

Taco Bell has been working on this concept for a bit now, with several name changes along the way. They were "Collider Tacos" and then "2Twister Tacos" last year, and now they''re "Double Stacked Tacos."
