Walmart Reveals Fourth of July Grilling Preferences Based on Store Data

Walmart gives an interesting look at grilling preferences, including which states prefer burgers on the grill and which go for hot dogs, leading up to the Fourth of July.

They put together their findings, which were on based on sales data at their US stores over the last four weeks, into an infographic shown below.

For the most part, at least as far as Walmart customers go, 39 out of 50 states pulled for burgers over hot dogs.

Here's some other curious things they found:

- Texas leads all states in sales of hamburger and hot dog buns combined with Florida coming in a close second.
- Ketchup sales outpaced mustard in every state.
-  Alabama, Michigan, Maine, Vermont, West Virginia, North Carolina, Alaska, Hawaii, Minnesota, South Dakota and Nebraska were the states where hot dogs outsold burgers.
- Apparently, the best-selling sides at Walmart were coleslaw and potato salad.
