Review: Jack in the Box - Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger

When I typically think of a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, I typically think of Wendy's value-menu burger but Jack in the Box also serves a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger. With the same name no less. It's a different burger though with bacon, American cheese, mayo-onion sauce, and ketchup.

Jack's Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger is also a value-menu item with a neat price tag of $1.

Review: Nong Shim - Onion Rings

Nong Shim is a Korean brand probably best known for making instant noodles but they also make snack foods including Onion Rings. Okay, much like Funyuns, technically they're onion-flavored rings. A 3.17-ounce bag usually costs any where from $1 to $1.50 in the Los Angeles area.

Frozen Friday: Totino's - Party Pizza

Totino's Party Pizza is the budget option for a quick frozen pizza. The most common varieties are Cheese, Pepperoni, Sausage, and Combination (Pepperoni and Sausage). I usually go for the Pepperoni (the classic) or the Combination (for variety) and picked them up on sale for around $1 (they retail for $1.99).

Review: Del Taco - Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit

Not too long ago, Del Taco started offering biscuit sandwiches as part of their breakfast offering. While I usually don't think of Del Taco for breakfast, I recently tried their Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit sandwich which is offered at a promotional price of two for $3.

Each biscuit features a freshly cooked egg omelet, American cheese and either savory sausage or crispy bacon on a buttermilk biscuit.

Review: Jack in the Box - Spicy Chicken Sandwich

Jack in the Box's Spicy Chicken Sandwich is very similar to the Wendy's Spicy Chicken Sandwich and features a spicy, crispy filet, topped with lettuce, tomato, and their mayo-onion sauce on a sesame seed bun for $3.69 (compared to Wendy's $3.99).

Review: Burger King - New Chicken Tenders

Burger King's new Chicken Tenders are pretty much your run-of-the-mill plain chicken nuggets. They replace BK's prior crown-shaped Chicken Tenders. They're available on BK's value at four pieces for $1. I picked up the 20-piece for $4.99 (saved a penny right?) which comes in a rather plain box. My local BK had the 8-piece going for $2.99 for some odd reason.

Review: Subway - Meatball Pepperoni Sub

Subway's currently featured $5 Dollar Footlong, the Meatball Pepperoni seems a bit of a random pairing  but I guess both meats are Italian in origin. I had mines built toasted on Italian bread with provolone cheese and a sprinkling of Parmesan, oregano, and black pepper. In case you missed it, the Meatball Pepperoni is $5 for a footlong sub.

News: Pizza Hut - New Ultimate Stuffed Crust Pizza

Pizza Hut's latest limited-time menu offering, the Ultimate Stuffed Crust Pizza adds meat to the normal cheese stuffed crust recipe resulting in an almost calzone-like crust.

There are two choices as far as which meats are in the crust: the Meaty Recipe comes with pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, and cheese; and the Pepperoni Recipe keeps it simple with just pepperoni and cheese.

The price on either version of the new Ultimate Stuffed Crust Pizza is $12.99 with up to three toppings.

News: Burger King - New, Free Chicken Tenders

Burger King has replaced its former crown-shaped Chicken Tenders with new nugget-shaped Chicken Tenders. In addition to the new, more normal shape, the new Chicken Tenders also sport new seasoning. They're still mechanically separated white meat though.

To push the new Nuggets Tenders, Burger King is hitting up your mailboxes with a free coupon for a four-piece serving ($1 value) that should arrive sometime this week.

The new Chicken Tenders are available in orders of four, eight, and twenty with respective prices of $1, $1.99, and $4.99. Available dipping sauces are buffalo, barbecue, zesty, sweet and sour, honey mustard or ranch.

News: Quiznos - New Chicken Bacon Dipper

Quiznos gets a bit gimmicky with their newest limited-time menu offering, the Chicken Bacon Dipper which features a sub made with toasted Chipotle Jack bread, slices of hot chicken, bacon, and a mild chipotle mayo. For the "dipper" portion, the sub is served with a side of cheese sauce seasoned with tomatoes, diced green chiles and traditional Mexican spices.

Retail price on a small sub is $5.19.

To entice you to try this new sandwich, Quiznos has an online coupon good for any small sub for $2.99 (expires 4/04/2011).

Review: Little Debbie - Oatmeal Creme Pies

Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies are probably best remembered for appearing in Disney's Honey I Shrunk the Kids in giant form after the kids were shrunk. Each individually-wrapped cookie consists of two soft oatmeal cookies with a vanilla creme center.

They're ridiculous cheap and retail for $1.59 for a 16.2-ounce box of twelve pies. They go on sale for about a buck or so.
