Review: Pepperidge Farm - Holiday Homestyle Cookie Collection

Since it's officially the holiday shopping season now, I thought it'd be appropriate to review the Holiday Homestyle Cookie Collection from Pepperidge Farm which is only available this time of the year for about $8 or $9 regular price but about $5 or $6 on sale.

A roughly one pound box features 45 holiday cookies in three different varieties: Holiday Chessman Cookies, Holiday Sugar Cookies, and Gingerbread Men.
The Holiday Chessman Cookie is a rectangular butter cookie featuring festive holiday shapes molded on the surface. The backside is covered in a rich dark chocolate. It's crisp and buttery with a nice dark chocolate finish.

The Holiday Sugar Cookie is a bit plainer with a somewhat subtly flavored sugar cookie with just a hint of vanilla and red and green sprinkles. A fairly crunchy cookie, it's not all that sweet for a "sugar" cookie. The Sister really liked them though.

Finally, the Holiday Gingerbread Cookie also featured a rich, dark-chocolate-covered backside and were quite crunchy with a molasses and spice flavor. I liked these the best for their holiday flavor; gingerbread means Christmas!
While the assortment was quite tasty, compared to the usual Pepperidge Farm cookie assortments (which usually consist of 8 or 9 cookie varieties), it was rather plain with three cookies that were somewhat similar to each other in taste and texture. I enjoyed it, but next time I'd go for the normal assortments for their much expanded variety.
