Review: Sonic - Ched 'R' Peppers

Sonic's Ched 'R' Peppers are Sonic's version of the jalapeno popper breaded and filled with melted Cheddar cheese. An order of four Ched 'R' Peppers sells for $2.99 and is served with a side of ranch dressing.

Eating a Ched 'R' Pepper is a curious exercise for me. You see, the breading has a slight crunch that gives way to a good-sized jalapeno filled with warm, gooey, yummy, melted Cheddar cheese... but, it isn't spicy! There might be a teeny weenie slight hint of spice, but it's of the "don't blink or you might miss it" variety. Oddly, you can taste the jalapeno sans the heat. It's a little like a bell pepper.
So basically, Sonic's Ched 'R' Peppers are jalapeno poppers for people who don't care for spicy but still want to eat a jalapeno. Weird I know, but there you go. As for me, I like the Wienerschnitzel version for its fair amount of heat and cheap price.

  1. Again, your review is correct.

I noted the lack of spiciness that is present with other jalapeno popper sources.
