Review: Starbucks - Vanilla Via Instant Coffee

Starbucks Vanilla Via instant coffee is one of the four flavors of the Starbuck's brand instant coffee recently brought to market. The other three flavors are Mocha, Caramel, and Cinnamon. Pricing is currently a promotional $5.95 for 6 one-serving packets. The normal price is $6.95.

The first thing I noticed as I tore open the sealed packet was a nice, strong vanilla smell. Pouring out the packets contents yielded a power mix that resembled ground black pepper quite a bit.
The instructions call  for 8 ounces of hot milk or water per packet, but you can adjust for taste; it can be too bitter if you don't add enough water/milk. Via really does taste like fresh brewed Starbucks coffee and the vanilla flavor has a healthy dose of vanilla.
Starbucks cuts the coffee with a fair bit of sugar for convenience, but I'd prefer to add my own sugar rather than a preset amount that tries to hit the middle ground. Still, Starbucks Vanilla Via provides the taste of Starbucks with a lower cost plus convenience.

Starbucks Vanilla Via (and other flavored instant coffee) is available for purchase on Amazon.
