Papa John's Offers Italian Beef Pizza But Only in Chicago

Papa John's slings an Italian Beef Pizza but only in the place where the Italian beef sandwich originates: Chicago, IL.

Benny's Italian Beef Pizza was first introduced late last year and features a hand-tossed pizza topped with thin-sliced Italian beef from Devanco Foods and Marconi brand giardiniera. Both companies are local food service and retail suppliers.

It's called "Benny's Italian Beef Pizza" due to a promotional tie-in with the Chicago Bulls professional basketball team (whose mascot is Benny the Bull) where $1 from the sale of each Italian Beef Pizza goes to the Chicago Bulls Charities. A large-size pizza goes for $12 under a current promotion.

While the availability is limited by geography, the pizza seems a bit more true to the sandwich than the Chicago-Style Beef Dip that Arby's offered earlier this year.
