The new cereal consists of peach-flavored flakes, blueberries, raspberries, peaches, and yogurt-y pieces.
According to the company, the cereal is the only one "from a leading brand to contain live and active probiotic cultures."
Probiotics are defined as "a microorganism (such as lactobacillus) that when consumed (as in a food or a dietary supplement) maintains or restores beneficial bacteria to the digestive tract" in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. They're generally associated with and touted as a health benefit of yogurt.
Given the association with yogurt, the one of the benefits of Special K Nourish Berries & Peaches with Probiotics is the convenience of getting some probiotics without the need for refrigeration.
You can find the new cereal on shelves in 10.5-oz and 15.5-oz boxes.
