Review: Burger King - Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich

Burger King's Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich features a white meat seasoned crispy-fried chicken filet, tomato pepper signature sauce, Black Forest ham, and melted mozzarella cheese on a toasted potato bun.

I went and bought one for $5.49.

The mozzarella was exceptionally thick with a mild, creamy flavor. There was a really nice pull to it.

The ham was meaty, salty, and flavorful. Combined with the cheese and the crispy chicken (which was a little dry on this occasion), it really tasted like an enjoyable chicken cordon bleu.

The tomato pepper signature sauce wasn't distinctly tomato-y or peppery but offered a creamy mayo base with a light combination of sweet, salty, and savory with just a bit of tanginess.

The bun was soft but sturdy.

Taken altogether, Burger King's Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich does a good job of balancing the essential components of the namesake dish, while the subtle sauce adds something new to the equation.
