McDonald's Limited-Time Hawaiian Menu in Japan includes a Loco Moco Burger and McGriddles Topped with Caramel and Macadamia Nuts

McDonald's Japan is currently offering a limited-time Hawaiian-themed menu that includes a returning loco moco burger and new "Hawaiian Pancake Caramel & Macadamia Nuts."

The seasonal menu features eight items and apparently has the approval of the Hawaii Tourism Board. The menu items are as follows:

- Cheese Loco Moco - A burger with thick beef patties, a McMuffin-style fresh-cracked egg, cheddar cheese, mayo, lettuce, and a Hawaiian BBQ sauce that sounds a bit different than the brown gravy that is typically part of a loco moco. Loco moco is a dish that originates from Hawaii and basically consists of white rice topped with a hamburger patty, a fried egg, and brown gravy (essentially, it's a comfort dish along the lines of meatloaf or salisbury steak).

- Garlic Shrimp - A sandwich featuring a crispy-fried patty of whole roasted shrimp served with a spicy garlic sauce, lettuce, and mayo.

- New Hawaiian Spicy BBQ - A burger with a thick beef patty, hash brown, spicy jalapeno cheese sauce, and barbecue sauce.

- Hawaiian Pancake Caramel & Macadamia Nuts - A maple-flavored pancake (AKA a McGriddle) topped with a caramel cream that contains macadamia nut pieces.

- Blue Hawaiian McFizz - Basically a Blue Hawaiian soda

- Blue Hawaiian McFloat - The Blue Hawaiian McFizz topped with vanilla soft serve.

- Lemonade McFizz - Lemonade soda
