Review: Mrs. Freshley's Deluxe - Reese's Peanut Butter Flavored Cupcakes

Mrs. Freshley's Deluxe Reese's Peanut Butter Flavored Cupcakes feature "chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter-flavored icing and filling made with Reese's Peanut Butter.

A 13-oz box of six cupcakes costs about $3 but I received this courtesy of Mrs. Freshley's.

Although it's not mentioned on the description on the box, the cupcakes also come topped with orange and yellow sprinkles as well as a chocolaty drizzle. The sprinkles were almost frosting-like in the way they melted into the icing. I was expecting more of a crunch. The chocolaty drizzle was basically like chocolate syrup.

Most notable was the cake portion as it was very moist with a light chocolate flavor. It's probably the moistest packaged snack cake I've eaten.

The peanut butter-flavored icing on its own wasn't waxy and offered a pretty nice note of peanut butter without being overly sweet. The filling was both lighter in taste and texture than the icing.

Overall, Mrs. Freshley's Deluxe Reese's Peanut Butter Flavored Cupcakes were good for a moderate chocolate-peanut butter combination and striking in the moisture of the cake portion. It could use crunchier sprinkles for that candy shell effect though.
