Key Lime Greek Yogurt Comparison

Key Lime Greek yogurt is a favorite of mine so I decided to try various versions of the flavor from three of the major Greek Yogurt brands to compare. I went with Chobani, Fage, and Dannon Oikos.

Each came in a 5.3-oz cup for $1 on sale.

L to R: Fage, Chobani, Dannon Oikos
The Chobani had an overly watery consistency that was closer to regular yogurt than Greek yogurt. Stirring it didn't seem to help.

Beyond the tangy and creaminess of yogurt, it had a concentrate flavor to it with a weird coconut-like aftertaste.

The Fage comes separated with a cup of plain, thick, and smooth Greek yogurt that was rich and creamy plus a compartment of key lime jelly.

The lime jelly was very sweet but with a definite key lime flavor and an almost fizzy quality to it; like an effervescence without the bubbles. It's a definite but enjoyable contrast from the yogurt.

The Dannon Oikos sported a mild but tangy key lime flavor with the most mainstream appeal (i.e. for people who don't like the traditional taste of Greek yogurt). The texture was just a little thinner than the Fage but still smooth and creamy.

Overall, I'd recommend the Fage for people who enjoy Greek yogurt with the added bonus of controlling how much jelly (read: sugar) you end up eating. For those who are iffy about their enjoyment of Greek yogurt, I'd suggest going for the Oikos, which is tasty but mild. I didn't care for the Chobani much with its poor consistency and odd flavor.
