Review: Yoplait - Oui French-Style Yogurt

Yoplait's Oui French-Style Yogurt presents a creamier, thicker take on traditional yogurt (i.e. regular Yoplait).

I bought two 5-oz jars at $1.57 a piece (I went with Vanilla and Black Cherry flavors).

These can be a bit hard to open as the rim of each jar is fairly thick and the lid is glued firmly across the entire surface of it. I imagine some might just poke a hole in the top and rip the foil lid open rather than struggle with pulling it off.

Compared to traditional yogurt, Oui is barely tangy and is generally not as sweet. I would say it's less tangy than both traditional and Greek yogurt.

In texture, Oui French-Style Yogurt has a firm but lightly set texture that reminds me of a loosely-set panna cotta. In fact, given the creaminess and general lack of tang, it actually scratches a panna cotta itch quite nicely.

The Vanilla flavor was mild and pleasant while the Black Cherry tasted more like the actual, fresh fruit rather than a bolder, more punchy jam that is concentrated but heavy on the sugar.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed Yoplait Oui French-Style Yogurt as it feels more a lighter take on panna cotta than yogurt (and I like panna cotta). It's especially nice if you don't like the tang of yogurt as you likely won't even notice it here.
