El Pollo Loco's Original Pollo Bowl features a bowl of seasoned rice and pinto beans topped with flame-grilled chicken breast, onions, cilantro, and pico de gallo.

It's $4.69 a bowl at my local El Pollo Loco restaurant.

News: Nabisco - Two New Belvita Biscuits This Fall

Nabisco is expanding their line of Belvita Breakfast Biscuits just in time for school with new Chocolate and Cinnamon Brown Sugar biscuits.

The whole idea of Belvita is an on-the-go breakfast solution for people with no time or inclination to sit down and enjoy breakfast, which pretty much puts them in competitions with granola bars, cereals bars, Pop Tarts, and the like. They are apparently quite popular in certain countries in Europe.

McDonald's Offers McWings Platter in Hong Kong

McDonald's is offering a limited-time McWings Platter in Hong Kong featuring three different types of McWings: Original, BBQ, and new Smoky Hot.

The McWings Platter comes with 6 pieces (two of each type) for 30 Hong Kong Dollars (~$3.87) a la carte  or 40.80 Hong Kong Dollars (~$5.26) for a combo. The McWings come in a compartmentalized box to keep each variety separate.

News: Caribou Coffee - New Breakfast Sandwiches to Welcome the Fall

With fall slowly approaching, Caribou Coffee is launching three new breakfast sandwiches to their line-up this Friday, August 17, 2012.

The three new sandwiches are pretty self-explanatory. They are: the Maple Bacon, Egg, and Gruyere Wheat Ciabatta (limited-time only), the Spinach, Egg, and Swiss Mini Ciabatta, and the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit.

In addition to the new sandwiches, Caribou will be bringing back their seasonal, fall menu with Pumpkin Lattes, Pumpkin White Chocolate Mochas, new Pumpkin Chais, Pumpkin Breads, and Caramel Apple Crisp Oatmeal. The pumpkin drinks should be improved as Caribou is using a new pumpkin syrup that is made from real pumpkin.

Papa John's Chicken Strips feature breaded and baked chicken breast strips.

They come in an order of seven pieces for $5.99. The next size up is 30 pieces for $24.99..

News: Domino's Unveils New Logo and Store Design

Continuing their brand/pizza renovation, Domino's today unveiled a new, simpler logo and a new store design dubbed the "Pizza Theater."

The new logo goes the way of McDonald's and Nike with a simple red and blue domino tile that can be accompanied by text, but doesn't have to be.

Pinkberry introduces Chocolate Hazelnut as their latest new flavor and suggests a few topping combinations to better complement the new flavor.

The suggested topping combinations are:

Around the World: McDonald's Features Indian-themed Burgers... in Japan

McDonald's is currently cooking up two Indian-themed burgers out in Japan. What makes them Indian-themed? Curry apparently. Oh, and chicken instead of beef, of course, since the cow is sacred to Hinduism and all.

Jack in the Box Tacos are a common order for many a late night food run. They consist of beef, American cheese, shredded lettuce, and taco sauce in a crunchy corn tortilla.

They are dirt cheap at two for 99 cents.

News: Krispy Kreme - Caramel Apple and Cotton Candy Donuts

Krispy Kreme turns to the county fair for inspiration with the release of their newest limited-time donuts: the Caramel Apple Donut and Cotton Candy Donut.

The Caramel Apple Donut features a glazed, apple-flavored cake donut topped with caramel icing.

The Cotton Candy Donut is an Original Glazed donut dipped in blue cotton candy sugar.

In addition to the new donuts, Krispy Kreme is also debutting two county-fair-themed drinks: the Cotton Candy Chiller and the Caramel Latte.

News: Green Burrito - New Charbroiled Chicken and Steak Torta Sandwiches

Carl's Jr./Green Burrito locations are now serving up new Charbroiled Chicken and Steak Torta Sandwiches.

The Charbroiled Tortas feature your choice of charbroiled chicken or steak, guacamole, pinto beans, shredded cheese, hot sauce, tomato, and shredded lettuce, served on a Mexican-style Telera roll.

The Charbroiled Chicken Torta is available by itself for $3.29 and the Charbroiled Steak Torta is priced at $3.89. The new Tortas are also available as combos with chips or fries and soft drinks. Prices may vary by location.

News: Mountain Dew - New Malt-Flavored Mountain Dew

Mountain Dew is out with a new malt-flavored Mountain Dew soda (isn't malt usually associated with beer and ice cream shakes?). They're calling the first batch Mountain Dew Johnson City Gold after their roots, but it's only in select stores for a limited time and only in the Midwest, Denver, and Charlotte (Mountain Dew was first started in Johnson City, TN).

But don't you fret! Mountain Dew is planning a second batch to release nationwide but they want Mountain Dew fans to name it. Basically, they're inviting fans to visit their website for an opportunity to re-name the soda and re-design the packaging.
