News: Panera Bread Featured 2011 Winter Menu

New to the menu this winter at Panera Bread is their Sonoma Chicken Stew, a creamy chicken stew with Parisian carrots, peas, leeks and diced red potatoes simmered with sweet cream and thyme. It's served with a new Dry Jack Cheese Biscuit.

There's also two new panini sandwiches: the Steak Balsamico and the Roasted Turkey Artichoke.

The Steak Balsamico features seared top sirloin, mozzarella cheese, roasted red peppers, baby spinach, tomato, and basil balsamic spread on ciabatta bread.

And the Roasted Turkey Artichoke comes with all-natural roasted turkey, artichoke-parmesan spread, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, and baby spinach on Asiago Cheese Focaccia bread.

As for salads, there's the new Roasted Turkey Harvest featuring all-natural roasted turkey, d’Anjou pears, dried cherries, Gorgonzola cheese, pecans, and Cherry balsamic vinaigrette.

Also new is the Low-fat Cranberry Orange Smoothie which blends a cranberry orange fruit base with Stonyfield Farm organic, low-fat vanilla yogurt and is boosted with ginseng.

For something hot to drink, Panera (like many chains) brings back Peppermint Hot Chocolate and Peppermint Mocha for the season.

On the bakery side of things, there's Holiday Bread and Cranberry Walnut Panettone returning and available until December 24th (Christmas Eve).

Also back are Cranberry Walnut Bagels, Gingerbread Men, and Mint Crinkles.

  1. Entering a Panera Bread instantly leads me a mental picture of politically correct cubicle dwelling infesting the place.

I resist the urge to loudly pass gas, burp and belch then depart.

    I merely refrain from entering.

Just a personal choice and "power" to those who relish their "Panera experience" but I would not want to share a warship going in "harm's way" with the type of folks who revel in their "Panera experience."
