Review: Del Taco - Regular Taco

Del Taco Regular Taco
Del Taco's Regular Taco is similar to Taco Bell's Crunchy Taco except not as liberally seasoned, and it's 30 cents cheaper! The Regular Taco features a hard taco shell with seasoned ground beef, shredded lettuce, and grated Cheddar cheese inside. It's only 59 cents a taco and on Tuesday nights (i.e. Taco Tuesdays), you can get three Regular Tacos for $1.09 (it used to be only 99 cents but, you know, inflation and all).

While being a lot cheaper, these tacos are a little bit lighter than Taco Bell's (by 14 grams). The taco meat isn't as salty or orange, but is bland. Hot sauce is definitely required to add some flavor.

The cheese is actually freshly grated and moist and the lettuce is crisp and fresh.

Also, 30 cents per taco really adds up when some people can eat 5 or 6 in one sitting. I only do three max myself nowadays.

Overall, Del Taco does a pretty good, cheap crunchy taco. Just don't forget the hot sauce.

Unfortunately, my local Del Taco was replaced by a Starbucks a couple years back and the closest one is two cities over.

  1. Always enjoyed Del Taco since they're cheap and not too bad in taste, I usually get fish taco!
