Review: Tastykake - Glazed Chocolate Mint-Flavored Pie

Tastykake's Glazed Chocolate Mint-Flavored Pie is a glazed pastry-crust hand pie with a chocolate mint-flavored filling.

A 4-5-oz individually-wrapped pie goes for about $1.79 but I received this courtesy of Tastykake.

The crust on the pie had surprisingly solid crunch--more so than similar hand pies I've tried and most pies in general. The glaze is similarly to what you find on a run-of-the-mill glazed donut. It was pretty nice.

Inside was a fairly thick pudding with a rich chocolate flavor as well as a very strong note of mint that may tread just a tad into toothpaste territory for some.

Overall, Tastykake's Glazed Chocoalte Mint-Flavored Pie turned out really well with a good level of sweetness, a fair bit of varied textures, and a rich filling compared to similarly-priced hand pies.
