Both Domino's and Pizza Hut Serve Up New Boba Pizzas in Taiwan

Taiwan being the birthplace of boba tea (also known as bubble tea and tapioca tea), it shouldn't be too surprising that both Domino's and Pizza Hut are serving up new boba-topped, dessert pizzas in the country.

Domino's version, the Brown Sugar Pearl Pizza, comes topped with mozzarella cheese, mochi balls, brown sugar tapioca pearls, and honey.

Pizza Hut's version, the QQ Brown Sugar Milk Pizza ("QQ" in Taiwan refers to a distinct chewy quality), comes topped with brown sugar tapioca balls, milk sauce, Ceylon black tea milk tea sauce, and mozzarella cheese. It comes on the chain's sourdough "San Francisco crust."

While tapioca balls or boba are typically found in tea drinks (with an over-sized straw), over in Taiwan, they've found their way into certain foods such as pancakes, pudding, and pizza.
