McDonald's Tests New Plant-Based P.L.T. Burger in Canada

As consumer interest in plant-based "meat" option increases, McDonald's is testing a new plant-based burger, the P.L.T. (Plant. Lettuce. Tomato.) in 28 restaurants in Southwestern Ontario, Canada.

The test burger features a Beyond Meat brand plant-based patty made exclusively for McDonald's and comes served with American cheese (they call it "processed cheddar cheese" up north), tomato, iceberg lettuce, pickle, onion, ketchup, mayo, and mustard on a toasted sesame seed bun (basically like a Quarter Pounder but with lettuce and tomato).

The price tag on the P.L.T. is $6.49 CAD (~$4.88 US).
