Review: McDonald's - Glazed Pull Apart Donut

McDonald's Glazed Pull Apart Donut features a glaze yeast donut that's segmented so you can pull it part into donut holes as you eat it.

I paid $1.69 for one.

From a top-down view, the Glazed Pull Apart Donut somewhat looks like a flower you might have drawn as a child. The center is filled-in hexagon surrounded by circles.

The glaze was fairly thick but the overall effect was only moderately sweet.

The donut itself was a bit dry and dense. There's a bit more rigidity to it than the soft, pliable crumb of a typical yeast donut. It pulled part very cleanly.

There's a slight richness to the donut--like they added a little extra fat somewhere to give it some oomph.

Taken altogether, McDonald's Glazed Pull Apart Donut was decent enough with a slight novelty to it. The extra richness was nice enough in what essentially feels like a day-old donut. It feels like an item you might get if you were in the mood and already at McDonald's but just makes me miss when they were trying out (and baking) Petite Pastries and mini Bundt Cakes.
