Wendy's Serves New Hoosier Breakfast Bowl Only in Indiana

Wendy's serves the new Hoosier Breakfast Bowl as a limited-time, local breakfast menu item only in Indiana (also known as the Hoosier state).

Wendy's Hoosier Breakfast Bowl features a bowl filled with homestyle seasoned potatoes, Southern-style creamy sausage and gravy, and shredded cheese, topped with a biscuit and a fresh-cracked fried egg

You can find the Hoosier Breakfast Bowl for a limited time at participating restaurants across the state of Indiana during breakfast hours.

Wendy's does not currently serve any sort of breakfast bowl on a national basis.

According to the Indiana state government, the nickname "hoosier" refers to an inhabitant of Indiana and came into usage sometime in the first half of the 1800s. There are a number of theories as to how it came to be, including:

- As a greeting for when someone came knocking on the door--"Who's yere"

- A historian found that "'hoosier' was frequently used in many parts of the South in the 19th century for woodsmen or rough hill people."
