Frozen Friday: Ben & Jerry's - Spectacular Speculoos Cookie Core Ice Cream

Ben & Jerry's Spectacular Speculoos Cookie Core Ice Cream features dark caramel and vanilla ice creams with speculoos cookies and a speculoos cookie butter core.

I got a pint on sale for $2.50.

The cookie butter core has an uneven graininess from the little bits of cookie and a strong dark caramel note to it. Out of the three components, it offered the strongest flavor.

The dark caramel ice cream was more like mild or light caramel, especially when combined with the smooth vanilla ice cream.

The pieces of speculoos cookies were soft and crumbly with a pretty mild caramel flavor compared to Biscoff or Trader Joe's brand Speculoos. Still, it hits the expected spiced notes.

Overall, while Ben & Jerry's Spectacular Speculoos Cookie Core Ice Cream wasn't quite the speculoos bonanza I was expecting, it still offered a measured and enjoyable gradient of similar flavors and contrasting textures.
