Frozen Friday: Sandwich Bros. - Angus Cheeseburgers

Sandwich Bros.' Angus Cheeseburgers feature a half pita pocket sandwich filled with half an Angus burger patty and half a slice of American cheese.

A 9-oz box of four individually-wrapped pocket sandwiches was $3.49 on sale.

The box indicates that these are ideal for kids or light meals, and they're indeed quite small but turn out rather well. You just wrap it in a paper towel and heat for 35 secs or so in the microwave and they're done.

Surprisingly, the pita didn't have any wet spots or off textures as is often my experience with microwaved frozen bread. It felt exactly as if you pulled it from a bag of a mini pitas at the supermarket.

Inside, the beef patty was moist, flavorful, and just a little spongy. It was plenty meaty against the pita. The cheese offered a bit more flavor than the typical American cheese and was melted nicely. It struck a nice balance with the beef and bread.

Overall, Sandwich Bros.' Angus Cheeseburgers kept it simple but tasty. The thinness of the flatbread really helped showcase the beef and cheese and it all turned out as well as can be expected from the microwave.
