New McDonald's Headquarters Restaurant Offers International Menu Items

Opening today on the ground floor of McDonald's new corporate headquarters in Chicago, McDonald's newest restaurant offers a rotating menu of popular international McDonald's menu items in addition to the standard US menu.

The new location might be the only place in the US that you'll find the following international menu items (some with some slight changes):

- Mighty Angus Burger (Canada) -  A 1/3 lb. Angus burger patty, leaf lettuce, tomato, grilled onion, American cheese, bacon, and smoky Angus sauce on a toasted glazed poppy and sesame seed bun.

- McSpicy Chicken Sandwich (Hong Kong and a number of other countries) - A spicy, marinated and crispy-fried chicken breast filet served with lettuce and mayo on a sesame seed bun (It's normally made with thigh meat in other countries though).

- Cheese & Bacon Loaded Fries (Australia, a number of other countries, and a test item here in the US) - French fries topped with warm melted cheese and bits of bacon.

- Mozza Salad (France) - A balsamic dressed pasta salad with roasted tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, arugula leaves, a choice of crispy or grilled chicken, and a breadstick (the French version actually does not include chicken and comes with crispy-fried mozzarella).

- Manhattan Salad (France) - A mix of lettuces, baby kale, romaine, and spring lettuce topped with grape tomatoes, dried cranberries, sliced apples, and a choice of crispy or grilled chicken. It also comes with a breadstick (the French version has fresh grapes instead of dried cranberries).

- McFlurry Prestígio (Brazil) - Vanilla soft serve mixed with strawberry sauce and chocolate-covered coconut bites (A Prestigio is a candy bar in Brazil similar to a Mounds bar).

The unique restaurant also includes a Latin American-style dessert center and an Australian McCafe area with a separate counter similar to what is also available in some international markets including Australia, France, and Hong Kong.

The location also features a wall map with Golden Arches that light up when an item from a specific country finds its way onto the menu.
