Taco Bell Tests New Chicken Tortada

Taco Bell is testing a new menu item called the "Chicken Tortada" for a limited time in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Chicken Tortada features Naked Chicken Chips, lettuce, 3-cheese blend, red tortilla strips, pico de gallo, and either Avocado Ranch or Mango Habanero sauce wrapped in a warm, flour tortilla that's folded into a square and then grilled. It's a little bit like a Crunchwrap Supreme minus the tostada shell.

It's being offered for $2.49 by itself or as part of a $5 Box that includes a Chicken Tortada, a crunchy taco, Cinnamon Twists, and a medium fountain drink.

This isn't the first time that Taco Bell has put out something called a "tortada." Back in 2010, they offered Tortadas for a limited time in two varieties: Bacon Ranch and Salsa Roja. They looked similar to the test item but contained grilled pieces of marinated chicken breast rather than crispy-fried.
