Review: McDonald's - Sweet N' Spicy Honey BBQ Glazed Tenders

McDonald's Sweet N' Spicy Honey BBQ Glazed Tenders feature the chain's Buttermilk Crispy Tenders tossed in a new sweet and spicy honey barbecue glaze.

An order of four cost me $4.49.

The breading of the tenders held up pretty well to the sauce and remained crunchy as I ate. I doubt they'd stay crunchy if you get them to-go and have to drive 20 minutes or more though.

I'm glad they gave me a knife and fork for these as the glaze is pretty sticky and messy. Sauce coverage was fairly good and there was only one notable bare spot on my tenders.

The glaze delivered a pleasant honeyed sweetness and a good dose of smokiness tinged with a slight tanginess and a low spicy heat that can build steadily as you eat. It was strong enough to mute the seasoning of the Crispy Tenders but wasn't so strong that it nullified the chicken. My particular tenders seemed a bit on the small side but were reasonably thick, meaty, and moist.

Overall, I quite enjoyed McDonald's Sweet N' Spicy Honey BBQ Glazed Tenders. There's a nice balanced BBQ flavor to the sauce that goes really well with the crispy chicken tenders.
