Taco Bell's "New" Vegetarian Menu Includes Black Bean Crunchwrap and Black Bean Quesarito

Taco Bell gives its vegetarian options more prominent billing by giving them some display space on the permanent menu that highlights the new Black Bean Crunchwrap and Black Bean Quesarito.

The Black Bean Crunchwrap and the Black Bean Quesarito are like their non-vegetarian counterparts but with black beans substituted for seasoned beef. You could previously order them by asking for the substitution of beans but now you can just order them by name. Unfortunately, going vegetarian isn't any cheaper and they're the same price as the Crunchwrap Supreme and Quesarito, respectively.

The revamped menu board denotes two items and other American Vegetarian Association-certified vegetarian items on the menu with a vegetarian symbol. There are a total of 13 vegetarian items listed on the menu in all.

Previously, since 2015, Taco Bell has listed several vegetarian menu items on their website, but not on the in-store menu, and allowed you to customize other menu items with vegetarian-friendly substitutes (the chain boasts 36 certified vegetarian ingredients [26 of which are vegan]).

According to the chain, about 7 percent of all items ordered at Taco Bell are either "vegetarian-friendly, or made vegetarian-friendly by some type of substitution or removal."
