Taco Bell Unveils New Toasted Cheddar Chalupa

Taco Bell gives the Chalupa a new look with the arrival of the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa starting September 12, 2019.

The key feature of the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa is 6-month aged cheddar that is baked onto the Chalupa shell.

Beyond the toasted cheddar Chalupa shell, you get the familiar combo of seasoned beef, chicken, or steak, plus shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, grated cheddar cheese, and reduced-fat sour cream.

Prices start at $2.49 (for the seasoned beef version) for just the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa. You can also get the seasoned beef version as part of a $5 Box that also includes two crunchy tacos, and a medium fountain drink.

The Toasted Cheddar Chalupa will be available for a limited time at participating location nationwide as well as several other international markets, including Aruba, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, and Puerto Rico.

They tested it last year both in its current form and as a breakfast item. They'll also best testing a Bacon Club Toasted Cheddar Chalupa in the Charlotte, NC area starting September 12, 2019. It'll take the same shell but fill it with grilled chicken, avocado ranch sauce, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, grated cheddar, and bits of bacon. The price tag on it will be $3.29.
