Review: Thomas' - Mini Croissants

Thomas' Mini Croissants are mini croissant made from a "mess-free flakeless dough."

I received a 11-oz bag courtesy of the Thomas' brand.

These are indeed mess-free with a soft surface and squishy interior. The trade-off seems to be that these aren't very croissant-like as the layers inside basically just press together when I bit into it leaving a soft and slightly gummy feel (especially when I heated it in the toaster oven). The exterior didn't crispy up much when I toasted it and remained "mess-free" save for a bit of grease on my fingers.

Taste-wise, the mini croissants are slightly sweet. They're not buttery (and don't contain butter) but there's a bit of richness to them from margarine and milk. They've a bit like the white bread of croissants in that they can sit on the counter or pantry for more than a few days and they take a while to dry out.

When it comes down to it, Thomas' Mini Croissants makes for an enjoyable croissant-shaped dinner roll that you can safely cram in your mouth when you're in a hurry.
