Review: Lay's Carnitas Street Taco Potato Chips

Lay's Carnitas Street Taco-flavored potato chips feature a "rich taco-style pork carnitas taste."

A 7.5-oz bag costs $4.59 but I received this courtesy of Lay's.

The aroma from popping open the bag reminded me a bit of pork ramen.

In flavor, the potato chips offered a seasoned pork rind flavor over the fried potatoes. The seasoning was unusual but somehow also familiar. I can't put my finger on it though. Carnitas can be fairly varied as far as street taco-style goes but I suppose these were carnitas-adjacent with their fried pork quality.

The chips themselves were satisfyingly crunchy with the the wider ridges for a bit more texture.

While I'm not sure that Lay's Carnitas Street Taco-flavored potato chips brought to mind carnitas, they were rather tasty bringing a fairly novel, savory flavor to the snack aisle.
