Review: Krispy Kreme - Biscoff Donuts

Krispy Kreme's Biscoff Donuts consist of three varieties of donuts featuring the flavor of Biscoff cookies and cookie butter. They include the Biscoff Iced Donut, Biscoff Cookie Butter Cheesecake Donut, and Biscoff Cookie Butter Kreme Filled Donut.

They cost $2.79 a piece or $19.99 for a dozen near me but I received this courtesy of Krispy Kreme.

The Biscoff Iced Donut is an Original Glazed donut dipped in Biscoff Cookie Butter icing.​ It's the plainest of the bunch with a light caramel-brown sugar flavor and extra layer of sweetness to go with the pillowy, airy donut.

The Biscoff Cookie Butter Cheesecake Donut​ takes the Biscoff Iced Donut and tops it with cream cheese buttercream and crumbled Biscoff cookies.​ The cream cheese buttercream added a tangy and sweet creaminess to the proceedings but also muted the already light Biscoff flavor of the icing. The Biscoff cookie crumbles offset the buttercream a bit but were soft rather than crunchy.

The Biscoff Cookie Butter Kreme Filled Donut​ is a shell donut with a center of Biscoff Cookie Butter Kreme filling, dipped in Biscoff Cookie Butter icing, and topped with a few loops of dark chocolate icing and crumbled Biscoff cookies.​ The Biscoff Cookie Butter Kreme filling offered a more robust hit of caramelly notes as well as a bit of creaminess. The dark chocolate icing contributed mild and occasional chocolaty notes, while the icing and crumbles echoed the cookie butter flavor. The crumbles here were also soft and likely came from the same batch.

Overall, Krispy Kreme's Biscoff Donuts offer varying degrees of Biscoff flavor and sweetness. My favorite of the set was the Biscoff Cookie Butter Kreme Filled Donut, which delivered the most Biscoff flavor to go with a decent mix of textures.
