Frozen Friday: Stouffer's - Baked Chicken Dinner

Stouffer's Baked Chicken Dinner box
For those preferring something slightly healthier than the normal frozen dinner, there's Stouffer's Baked Chicken Dinner which features a boneless baked chicken breast with gravy and mashed potatoes topped with paprika. I usually find it on sale for between $1.50 and $2.00.

First off, the chicken's pretty moist, but having been microwave in gravy, it doesn't have any of the crust you'd expect from baked chicken, it tastes more like poached chicken. It's quite good for something out of the microwave, but I'd rather get the meatloaf or Salisbury steak. Baked chicken is something I can make pretty easy with little prep.

Other than that, the gravy is typical and Stouffer's mashed potatoes are always pretty good and turn out very well. They're more like whipped potatoes and are very smooth in texture. As always (at least recently), there's no preservatives in Stouffer's frozen dinners.
