The Sister had these made with grilled chicken, two salsas (corn and tomato), cheese, and lots of sour cream (she really likes sour cream). She opted for no lettuce because, frankly, there was no more room in the tacos after all the salsa and sour cream.
Surprisingly, the crispy shells have less salt (190mg less!) and less calories than the soft flour tortillas.
Chipotle Crispy Chicken Tacos taste pretty good, the ingredients at Chipotle are always fresh and of good quality. No wilted lettuce or soggy tomatoes or what not. The chicken is juicy, nicely flavored, and not too salty. Plus they build it the way you like it.
My only complaint for Chipotle in general is that the food isn't served hot. I would say my food is usually lukewarm. It's the combination of cold veggies and warm meat. I think the only menu item that is served hot isn't on the menu (the Quesadilla) because they press it after making it. I wonder if you can get them to press your burrito after it's put together....

Those look yummy!
ReplyDeleteYeah, looks good. But every time I get Chipotle I am very dissapointed. White meat chicken is not meant for tacos. Chipotle's tacos are so far off of actual Mexican tacos, I'm sure it's like calling Rice-A-Roni's Chicken Rice Stir Fry a good interpretation of Chicken Stir Fry from China. After having real Mexican tacos I cant stand anything like Chipotle.
ReplyDeleteI used to dismiss Chipotle as not really Mexican food as well (and it's not) but I came to like it for its own flavor and think of it more as Mexican-inspired.
