Review: Subway - Raspberry Cheesecake Cookie

Subway's limited-time Raspberry Cheesecake Cookie are baked in-store with pieces of cheesecake and pockets of what appears to be raspberry jam embedded.

My local Subway charges 60 cents per cookie or three for $1.25 which is a little more than the 3 for $1.00 they charge at McDonald's. I ended up getting three: two Raspberry Cheesecake cookies and one Peanut Butter.

The cheese used for the cheesecake bit is American Neufchatel cheese (which is softer than regular cream cheese with about 1/3 less fat) according to the ingredients. While there is some cheesecake flavor if you told me it was a raspberry white chocolate chip cookie, I wouldn't contradict you. I later found out that that's because there's more white chocolate chip than cheese in each cookie.
The bits of raspberry aren't actually pieces of raspberry but seem to be raspberry jam; it tastes like a sweet and tart berry jam as well so I'm just going to assume that's what it is. The combination of white chips, cheesecake, and raspberry jam along with the sugar in the cookie itself make for a fairly sweet cookie with an interesting and novel taste. It provides welcome variety to the usual suspects; I don't recall any other fresh-baked cookies with jam.
The peanut butter was fairly standard. It was soft baked and sufficiently peanut butter-y. I'm not very picky when it comes to peanut butter cookies as long as they have enough peanut butter flavor, I'm pretty happy.

I wonder if Subway would toast cookies for you if you asked.
