The box touts that the cookies are all-natural and contain 600mg of ALA Omega-3 which is supposed to have a number of health benefits. But this is a food blog so the question is "How does it taste?"
The Sister thought this tasted "healthy" and more "like a granola bar," but I liked it. It does have more walnuts, flaxseed, and oats than the typical oatmeal cookie which gives it a more grainier and drier consistency than your typical soft-baked oatmeal (which usually has more flour and less oats) but I liked the added texture and enjoyed it. And, I would rather have it over the typical granola bar.
With only eight cookies per box, your supply of Omega-3s will go by pretty fast even at a cookie a day. Also the box sports a huge cookie but you'll notice in that the actual cookie is much smaller. Maybe about 2 inches in diameter but with about a 1/2 inch thickness lending a bit of a hockey puck shape.
Kashi TLC Oatmeal Raisin Flax Cookies are good but not great. Some vague notion of "Omega-3s are healthy" adds a little peace of mind though not a free license to eat a whole box. A single Oatmeal Raisin Flax cookie is actually a pretty decent snack especially for the more health-minded and not too bad on sating hunger despite the rather small size.

Hate to nitpick, but did you mean the cookies are good but not great? Saying they're not good but not great makes them sound... well, bad lol.
ReplyDeleteWhoops! Thanks, I fixed it. I originally wrote "not great but good" but when I switched them around I guess I added a "not."
