Review: Taco Bell - Cheesy Double Decker Taco

Taco Bell's
newest limited-time menu item, the Cheesy Double Decker Taco adds the slightest of tweaks to the standard Double Decker Taco: some nacho cheese sauce to go with the refried beans that hold the Crunchy Taco to the soft flour tortilla. The price is especially nice at 89 cents a pop.

Taco Bell's nacho cheese is fairly understated in this particular application but that's not a bad thing. The Cheesy Double Decker Taco tastes much like a crunchy taco fused with a bean and cheese burrito. A bit of crunch, a bit of cheese, a bit of meat and lettuce. I like.

It's really not all that different from a regular Double Decker Taco but I like the Double Decker Taco as well.

The real kicker is that Taco Bell's Cheesy Double Decker Taco is only 89 cents(!) which at some locations is less than a Crunchy Taco and much less percentage-wise than the $1.29 for a Double Decker. More than the sum (price) of its parts? Yup!

  1. Great last paragraph lol. That's what threw me, I figured for the price they were really gonna go skimpy, but it's pretty much a very good double decker.

  2. I tried it yesterday and was SHOCKED at how much I enjoyed it: it's crunchy, very cheesy (much more cheese than beans in mine) and only 89 cents.

  3. For the food amount offered Taco Bell seems to be one of the better fast-food offering firms around.

A blessing for the masses who are unemployed or under-employed; forced into what has become, to some socio-economic stratum within the USA, a new norm unable to evolve into the "American Dream" of past decades that may have been over-hyped even then.

Taco Bells' offerings allows even the working-poor and those of marginal means to enjoy what is for folks of my socio-economic group what is to many of us fine dining away from home.

And, yet again, the provided pics prompt me to stare. To gaze in delight. To shiver and quiver in anticipation of the future time when I can ignore the high carb. content and devour a Taco Bell goody.
